The E2 Proteins

چکیده
The papillomavirus E2 proteins regulate viral transcription and replication and therefore play a central role in the viral life-cycle. In BPV1, the full-length E2 gene product is a transcriptional transactivator that activates transcription from several viral promoters by binding to E2 binding sites located within enhancer elements in the LCR (reviewed in [68,75]). BPV1 also encodes two shorter forms of the E2 protein that antagonize the function of the full-length transactivator. The E2 repressors inhibit transcription by binding to and blocking the E2 binding sites and/or by forming heterodimers with the E2 transactivator. The E2 proteins of the human papillomaviruses can also function as transcriptional transactivators and the E2 proteins of oncogenic human papillomaviruses are able to activate E2responsive promoters more efficiently than those of non-oncogenic viruses [47]. However most, though not all, studies find that the full-length E2 proteins of mucosal type viruses repress the activity of the E6 gene promoter [9,12,29,45,82,100].

Evaluation of full length E1 and E2 glycoproteins of HCV expressed in P. pastoris as a protein-based vaccine candidate
Introduction: The development of an effective vaccine against Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is still a target of intensive vaccine research. The HCV envelope proteins E1 and E2 which can induce broadly neutralizing antibodies are the major candidate for this purpose. Different types of expression systems have been used to express these glycoproteins. In this study, an expression system using Pichia p...

A sex steroid-binding protein (SBP) that binds to 17 b-estradiol with high affinity and moderate capacity was identified in the plasma of female and juvenile of kutum (Rutilus frisii kutum) sampled during the early stage of gonadal maturation in October and prior to spawning in March. Mean maximum specific binding (Bmax) and equilibrium dissociation constant (Kd) of the fish were as follows: In...

Background and Aim: At the present time one of the strategies in vaccine design is generation of fusion proteins containing (including) immunogen of infectious agents and adjuvants. In this study design and construction of E2-fliC fragment as a vaccine candid was conducted by using fliC gene from Salmonella enterica and E2 gene from hepatitis C virus. Materials and Methods: To prepare the E2-f...
متن کاملDevelopment of Preventive Vaccines for Hepatitis C Virus E1/E2 Protein
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is responsible for a vast majority of liver failure cases. HCV is a kind of blood disease appraised to chronically infect 3% of the worlds’ population causing significant morbidity and mortality. Therefore, a complete knowledge of humoral responses against HCV, resulting antibodies, and virus-receptor and virus-antibody interactions, are essential to design a vaccine. HC...
